Manmin Joong-ang Church celebrates the first anniversary of GCN, the Global Christain Network, at the church's main hall in Seoul.
Manmin Joong-ang Church in Seoul celebrated its 24th anniversary on Oct. 6 with a service and festival under the senior pastorship of Rev. Dr. Lee Jaerock. A video presentation titled "The Works of the Holy Spirit" was shown on the eve of the anniversary. On Sunday, two days after the church celebrated the anniversary, GCN, the Global Christian Network, held its first anniversary service and festival. The church's anniversary event brought more than 150 guests from many foreign countries. A dazzling multi-laser show opened the program followed by performances by the Nissi Orchestra, the Miracle String Quartet, and renditions of Korea's traditional and modern dances. Tasty and abundant food, and various festivals, including the "2006 Praise Contest," brought much mirth and joy to the audience. Since its founding in 1982, Manmin Joong-ang Church has followed the evangelical theology and orthodox biblical teachings, grounded in senior pastor Rev. Dr. Lee's life-filled messages, its congregations' fervent daily prayers, and experiences in living faith. Rev. Dr. Lee serves national evangelical and world missions as chairman of the United Holiness Church of Korea, founder and board chairman of The United Holiness Theological Seminary, president of The Nation Evangelization Newspaper, founder and board chairman of Global Christian Network and Manmin International Seminary, founder and president of World Christian Doctors Network, permanent president of the World Christianity Revival Mission Association, and permanent chairman of the Association of Korea's Unification and Revival. In addition, Rev. Dr. Lee has conducted many world-wide crusades in locations such as Hawaii, and the cities of Washington D.C., Baltimore, Los Angeles, and New York in the United States, St. Petersburg in Russia; Manila in the Philippines; cities in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa; Lahore in Pakistan; Buenos Aires in Argentina; San Pedro Sula in Honduras; Chennai in India; Oberhausen in Germany; and Lima in Peru. Rev. Dr. Lee has also authored many books based on his past sermons, which were translated into 16 languages and read by Christians and nonbelievers alike. Rev. Dr. Lee's "Heaven I" has been published by the Creation House of the Strang Commutations based in Lake Mary, Florida; OM Books, India's largest Christian publishing company; Grace Publishing House, a prominent Christian publishing company of Taiwan; and Andi Publishing Company of Indonesia. They have received accolade from many readers in those countries. Translated versions of Rev. Dr. Lee's other books have also been published by Word of Joy in the Philippines, New & Old of Russia, and Freedom Publishing Company of Egypt.

'Tasting Eternal Life Before Death'
By Ting Yuan Ping - President, Grace Publishing House of Taiwan
When his wife and he first bought a home at the beginning of their marriage, he celebrated with five bottles of whisky but the only things that found him were sickness and torment. Many diseases and the subsequent torment in his heart only drove him through the valley of the shadow of death. In the end, even his mother gave up on him. Such had been the crushed life of Rev. Dr. Lee Jaerock but today, he is God's servant in charge of an enormous congregation, conducting overseas crusades at which hundreds of thousands and millions of people gather, healing the sick, and developing workers of God's kingdom. If you look at these two things, it's worth examining, "What force changed him so?" As he had passed the threshold of death himself, Rev. Dr. Lee is familiar with man's torment at his last moment. We ought to take after Rev. Dr. Lee's will to always pursue God's grace and his strong determination to completely subject himself to God's will.

'Heaven I & II, Hell'
By Junko Shijo - Former assistant professor at Shimane University of Japan)
After my daughter was killed in a car accident in 2001, I was in great despair. While translating "Heaven I" the following year, I was consoled in the most marvelous way. I learned that the heavenly dwelling place is determined by the way we live in this world and began to have faith by which I believed that my daughter would be living a more joyous life in heaven than she would have on the earth. When I was editing and translating "Hell" into Japanese, I had an amazing experience of hearing the groaning and moaning of those who are currently in Hades. From that I learned Hell was a reminder for all Christians to reclaim the lost souls and an encouragement for all brothers and sisters in Christ to lead better lives in the Lord.
