There are many church members who fulfill their duties with joy and work faithfully with faith and hope to achieve the heart of the Lord and become God's true children. Here are testimonies given by some of them.
"I Recovered from a Stroke and Became Healthy Enough to Volunteer for the Kingdom of God!"
Deacon Euihwan Noh, age 62, Manmin Volunteer Group, Manmin Central Church
In February 1998, my right hand was paralyzed. I went to hospital and heard that I had cerebrovascular disease. It developed into paralysis of the right side of my body. I had to quit my job and stay at home. In May 1998, Elder Kyudong Lee, who is an old friend of mine, visited me unexpectedly and told me to follow him. Following him, I attended Special Revival Meeting of Manmin Central Church.
Dr. Jaerock Lee's messages and his love for God allowed me to learn about faith. Soon I could stop smoking and drinking that I hadn't been able to stop for a long time. When I received Senior Pastor's prayer for the sick during every service, the paralysis went away and I recovered fully.
Since I felt so grateful to God, I was thinking about what I could do for Him. I was asked if I could work as a member of Manmin Volunteer Group. I accepted it, and ever since I have woken up at 4 A.M. on Sundays and went to church. I was so happy on the way to Guro-dong from my house in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
In church, I put a big caldron on the stove to make a broth and wash bowls. I wash the dishes after Sunday Morning Service, and help the members in wheelchairs and take them to church buses. And I clean the sanctuaries and attend Daniel Prayer Meeting from 9 to 11 P.M. After doing all these, I went back home around 11 P.M. but I felt so good and happy.
More than ten years have passed since I started as a volunteer. The paralysis caused by stroke was healed and I became healthy. I even have received financial blessings. It is all because of the grace of God.
"God Takes Responsibility for My Life As I Work Faithfully"
Senior Deaconess Munhee Choi, age 47, Receptionist of Reception Committee, Manmin Central Church
I got married in 1995 and became pregnant. But the doctor said that I had a big lump in my ovary and it could press against my baby and cause problems. Before the surgery, I was so nervous that I called my cousin. She took me to Manmin Central Church. I attended the church and offered up vowed prayer. In the meantime, Manmin Prayer Center President, Mrs. Boknim Lee, prayed for me and Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee showed up in my dream and encouraged me. I was convinced I had received the answer, and I delivered a healthy son.
With a grateful heart for the grace of God, I received several God-given duties and tried my best to fulfill them. I worked hard as an usher during Sunday Morning Service, as a president of my mission during lunchtime, as a receptionist in the fellowship room before Evening Service, and as a member of Shalom Choir.
I feel very proud of my church and served as a receptionist when overseas guests visited the church.
I mistakenly thought that I was doing great so I could not find out my shortcomings. The God of love allowed me to discover them through trials and blessed me to achieve the heart of spirit.
My husband, Deacon Soonwook Hwang, was promoted in his workplace, and my son Yejun was admitted to Hanyang University as the top student in the Engineering Department. I give all thanks and glory to God who always leads me to the way of blessings and prosperity.
"I Received Overflowing Blessings in Spirit and Body through My Duty"
Senior Deaconess Miok Oh, age 47, Hair Make-up Team Leader, Manmin Central Church
When I lived in Kenya, I attended Nairobi Manmin Holiness Church for six years. I attended Dr. Jaerock Lee's United Crusades held in Uganda and Kenya and witnessed countless people healed of their diseases by the power of God.
I came back to Korea in 2004. As I was healed of stomach disease by Dr. Lee's prayer, I came to trust the church all the more. At that time I ran a hair salon and voluntarily helped the church members with hair styling and make-up for GCN programs.
Meantime, the Hair Make-up Team was organized under the support of Pastor Heejin Lee, Chairperson of Performing Arts Committee. The number of volunteers steadily increased and now we have 26 members. They help special praise givers and those appearing on GCN for their performance and photo shoots.
The team members increased faith and received blessings in spirit and body over time. I also achieved sanctification of the heart through my duty, and have been protected and become healthy.
In addition, my parents were guided to church. My father Deacon Sebok Oh was healed of aftereffects of defoliant, and my mother Deaconess Seongbun Eom of angina and heart disease. They are living with hope for Heaven.
I give all thanks and glory to the God of love, and extend my thanks to Senior Pastor for nurturing me with the word of life.
