Heaven is full of happiness. But what if you could not see your loved ones there? It would be so regretful. Now let's hear about the story of a man who was healed of a rare disease and evangelized his family and relatives. Through the family's testimonies, we can think about the meaning of evangelism through which the power of God and true happiness are delivered.
In July, 1991, Elder Hongki Park was a man in early thirties who was working day and night as a national civil servant. One day he collapsed in his workplace and was rushed to the hospital. He had pollution disease. There was no way to cure his disease although he used all kinds of folk remedies as well as modern medicine. While struggling against the disease for seven years, the house head, who had been responsible and faithful, became bony, and he often felt an urge to finish his life.
Meantime, in 1997, he found out Manmin News put in the door of his house and then Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death in the bookstore.
"I felt like something was attracting me to one book. It caught my eyes and I read it all night. Like me, the author had suffered from diseases for seven years but he was healed after he accepted the Lord. I read it with tears and runny nose and then I became assured that I would be able to be healed," said Elder Hongki Park.
In May of the same year, he attended Special Revival Meeting of Manmin Central Church and received Dr. Lee's prayer. He was completely healed of pollution disease. This was known by his relatives.
"Hyunsuk, Hongki who had waited for death was healed through the prayer in church. Have you heard about it? I am attending the same church." Deaconess Jungsuk Lee is Elder Park's cousin and was guided to the church by him. She guided her sister Senior Deaconess Hyunsuk Lee to Friday All-night Service, and there she saw the church filled with the Holy Spirit like the Early Church. She, in turn guided her husband Elder Pyeongseo Ku who was working at National Tax Service at that time.
"The Tax Account Exam was around the corner. My wife said that she would take my photo and receive Senior Pastor's prayer.
She said that then I would be able to pass the test. I had already failed seven times, so I was half in doubt but I told her to do it," said Elder Ku.
Then, Elder Ku passed the test with a high score on the test, and after this incident he registered in the church in August 2002. His mother had hurt her back long time ago and her backbone protruded a lot. Due to this, she had suffered from severe pain. But through Dr. Lee's prayer, her protruding bone went back to its normal place. Elder Ku witnessed this amazing work.
Because he had loved his mother and she was healed, he made up his mind to lead an appropriate Christian life. He stopped what he had liked to do such as table tennis, billiards, baduk, go-stop and he also quit drinking. And he attended every kind of worship services and prayed. As he worked faithfully for the kingdom of God, he received constant blessings from God in his tax accountant office. Glorifying God, he tried to evangelize other people.
"At that time I wanted to catch even a straw. Then Elder Ku said with so much confidence that if I had faith the disease that I had was nothing," said Deacon Ihee Song.
In April 2004, Deacon Ihee Song was spending hopeless days due to hepatitis B he had. He met Elder Ku in the club he belonged to in his workplace and was guided to Friday All-night Service of the church. After he received Dr. Lee's prayer for the sick following his sermon, the symptom was completely gone.
Seeing him having been healed, his wife Deaconess Minsuk Jang also registered in the church, and she was healed of knee arthritis and general inability to maintain her health. Her daughter, Youngmi was healed of bronchial asthma and her family also registered in the church. In September 2014, Deaconess Hyunok Shin was guided to the church by Deacon Song. She had been told that she would die because colorectal cancer had been transferred to her lung and lymph gland. But after she received Dr. Lee's prayer she was healed and is still living a healthy life as a Christian.
Meantime, Elder Hongki Park's testimony caused a happy ripple in his wife's family. Senior Deaconess Mihyung Cho his wife, her parents, and her siblings all accepted the Lord and registered in the church.
"My brother-in-law who had been very successful was waiting for death, and my sister was struggling to earn money instead of him. Thinking of them in those days, I still shed tears. Now all my family members were saved through him. How thankful it is!" said Senior Deaconess Hyehyung Cho.
Senior Deaconess Hyehyung Cho, Elder Park's sister-in-law also received many blessings. Her children used to be often sick but now they no longer need to go to hospital. And she was also blessed to work as a Lord's worker.
Deaconess Jinhyung Cho, another sister-in-law of his also experienced the power of God. She suffered from pregnancy outside of the uterus and her fetus was categorized in the high risk group of Down syndrome. But after she received Dr. Lee's prayer, she delivered a healthy baby. And her baby was also healed of atopic dermatitis. Moreover, Deaconess Youngmin Jung his wife's younger brother's wife was healed of dermatitis allergy to roses.
The people who Elder Park guided to the church have been blessed in every matter. Above all, they are filled with hope that they will live together forever in the most beautiful heavenly place New Jerusalem. Let's give all thanks and glory to God of love who led them to the way of blessings and salvation.
