Genesis chapter 1 describes God's creation of the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:3-4 says, "Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness."
What kind of light was this light? Since there was no sun yet at that time, it must not have been sunlight. Then, what was this light? And why did God say 'Let there be light' first?
The light created on the first day of creation is 'the original light of creation'.
As John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God," God existed in the form of Word and Light (1 John 1:5). The God who was Light that contained the sound is God the Origin. The light and the sound that have the power and authority of God are respectively 'Original Light' and 'Original Voice'. God the Origin planned human cultivation and started existence in the form of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Then God divided the original space where He existed in light and voice into a spiritual realm and a fleshly realm. God the Trinity created the earth in the fleshly realm and began the Creation as the time came. On the first day, He said, "Let there be light". Then, the original light surrounded a certain fleshly place to which the earth belonged. "The certain fleshly place" here refers to the earth, the solar system and the galaxy as the six days of Creation took place. The main work of the original light that surrounded the certain fleshly space was "the creation," and thus it is also called "the original light of creation." At the beginning of the Creation, He surrounded the earth with the original light of creation and He roared the original voice of creation every day, and created all things in the universe one by one.
By the way, why did God surround the fleshly space with the original light of creation on the first day of Creation?
First of all, it was to manifest the works of creation in the spiritual time flow by covering the fleshly space with the spiritual space. The fleshly world rode on the fleshly time flow from the first day of creation. The concept of a 24 hour day of today began at this time. To manifest the works of creation in such a fleshly space, God made the original light surround the fleshly space so that it could be covered with spiritual space. The spiritual time flow is much faster than the fleshly time flow. Works that could have taken tens of or hundreds of years in a sense of fleshly time could be finished just in a day in the spiritual space. In addition, something can be created from nothing in the original light of creation. In a space which is covered with the original light, the spiritual law dictates. Whatever God harbors in His heart will be done. Something can be created from nothing, and a certain substance can be transformed into solid, liquid, or gas. When this fleshly space is surrounded by the original light, and covered with the spiritual space, things should be done according to the spiritual law. Take for example a cancerous growth instantly disappeared after prayer. Or, if a person's appendix burst and became peritonitis, but the pain was gone and the person felt normal right after receiving prayer. According to fleshly law, cancer should be removed through an operation. However, when a man who is guaranteed by God with God's power prays according to justice, God covers the man with the spiritual space. The same applies to all the healing works. Broken bones re-combine, dead nerves revive, degenerated organ tissue becomes normal, and the list goes on. In each case the original light surrounds the part, and a spiritual space is formed, and inside the space, the work of re-creation takes place.
The second point; when God surrounded the fleshly space with the original light, the order and principles were established in the fleshly space. For example, a rule was set up like "The earth shall rotate once a day, and revolve around the sun once a year." Not only do the planets of the solar system but also the countless stars move in a certain orbit at their own proper speed. Even though there are countless stars in the sky, they don't operate in a disorderly and haphazard fashion. They all operate according to their own order and principles. Water freezes at 0 degree in Celsius, flows as liquid above 0° and boils and becomes vapor at 100°. The order of seasons is spring, summer, fall, and winter. All these principles that are necessary in the fleshly space were set up on the first day. In this way, God established order and principles for the creatures that He would create soon in the original light of creation on the first day (Job 38:5).
Thirdly, His power and divine nature were put into all the creatures. God's power can revive the dead and causes life to grow well. When you sow a seed in the ground, it sprouts and grows up. According to the law of nature, to make a seed sprout, it needs proper ground, water, and sunlight. Since God's power and His divine nature is put into the ground, water, sunlight, and all the creatures, a form of life can sprout. The original light of creation that surrounds the fleshly space became dimmer and dimmer as this world was becoming increasingly stained by sin. Eventually it was lifted at the time of Noah's Flood. However, the light that was put into all creatures still remains, and it works as fundamental energy that holds and sustains all living things.
