Q 1 Thessalonians 5:23 NKJV reads, "Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." Even if they have learned that human being consists of spirit, soul, and body, many people do not know what the 'whole spirit' means. So, what is whole spirit and how are 'whole spirit' and 'spirit' distinguished from each other?
A 'Spirit' refers to things that are neither perishing nor are changed, instead, that are eternal, true, and the truth itself. As the first part of John 4:24 reads, "God is spirit", it is one of the characters of God the Creator. 'Flesh' is something that is opposite to spirit. It is perishing, filthy, and insubstantial. When we cast away sin, evil, and all fleshly attributes that are perishing and changeable we can recover the image of God who is spirit and become a 'man of spirit'.
If someone gets rid of all untruthfulness of heart and their souls prosper, they have achieved the heart of spirit. They accept only the truth, and their souls and bodies then obey their spirit. The spirit then becomes master of the soul and body. Thus, they can have only truthful thoughts and show the deeds of the truth. However, they still need to fill their hearts with the contents of spirit to perfectly recover the image of God.
To the extent that your heart is occupied by the constituents of spirit, your words and actions sound and look more virtuous and they even move others' hearts. In other words, when you fill your hearts with the spiritual contents 50 percent, 80 percent, and then finally 100 percent, the heart becomes the heart of whole spirit. Then, you can become perfectly spiritual men, that is, men of whole spirit.
Men of whole spirit have already borne abundant fruit of the truth fully and completely such as the fruit of spiritual love in 1 Corinthians chapter 13, the fruit of the Beatitudes in Matthew chapter 5, the nine fruits of the Spirit in Galatians chapter 5, and the fruit of the Light in Ephesians chapter 5. So, they can please God. Now, let's look into the difference between 'spirit' and 'whole spirit' with regards to obedience, answers, faithfulness, blessings of finance and those of health.
Obedience
Men of spirit obey God's commands out of their extreme love for God. But men of whole spirit not only obey His commandments with love completely, but they also carry them out by understanding the heart and will of God, which delights God.
For example, of two obedient children, one child just obeys his parents because he loves them. The other child tries to figure out his parents' intention and why his parents asked him to do something. The second child obeys but also does more than what he can do with his love. He may even be able to do things that his parents have not asked him to do but they want in advance and in the way they want it done.
Men of spirit obey in everything, but men of whole spirit obey more than enough by perceiving the heart and will of God embedded in His commands. All their thoughts and deeds are loved by God and please Him. God created men to gain such children; it is the reason for creation
Answers
1 John 3:21-22 says, "Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight." Because men of spirit do not commit sins and keep God's commands, they can receive God's answer quickly. Also, they can manifest healing works when they pray for others (James 5:16).
Of course, men of whole spirit receive answers to whatever they ask for. Furthermore, they can receive answers even when they just harbor their hearts' desires. God the Almighty foreknows what they need and when they need it, so He prepares it beforehand and provides them with it at the best time.
When you come into whole spirit and pile up fiery prayer you can even manifest signs written in Mark 16:17-18 and the amazing power of God.
Faithfulness
Men of spirit work faithfully doing more than what they are supposed to do, so their faithfulness can be recognized as spiritual faith. With such faithfulness, men of whole spirit are faithful in all God's household. They fulfill all their God-given duties impeccably, even more than enough. In order to be faithful in all God's household, the fruits of the Holy Spirit must be borne 100 %.
Men of whole spirit cherish all God-given duties. It does not matter how important or insignificant they may seem in the sight of men, so they fulfill them with all their hearts, their will, and their dedication. Thus, they can work faithfully in all aspects though they have many duties and bear plenty of fruit.
This is because they have love that sacrifices their lives for the kingdom of God and souls' salvation. They can bring down God's works from above because they harbor all duties and pray for them with such earnest love.
Blessing of finance and health
A good measure of blessings will pour into your lap that is 'pressed down, shaken together, and running over', when we sow with faith and pray. Men of whole spirit reap with 60 times or 100 times while men of spirit reap with 30 times or 60 times. When we go into whole spirit, the authority of blessings and curses is given to us. Furthermore, when we become spiritual men, the blessings given to us will come upon people who are with us as well.
Men of spirit stop aging and they do not suffer from diseases or infirmities. They are always protected by the fiery walls of the Spirit, so diseases or illness cannot come into them. Even if they are sick, it will be burnt by the fire of the Spirit right away when they pray. Men of whole spirit even become younger and recover good health as well as they are not affected by diseases or weakness.
Of course, God sometimes allows for trials to men of whole spirit to extend His kingdom in His justice or reveal that the men are eligible to receive the great power of God.
