On the evening of March 21, I missed a step on the stairs and injured my right ankle so severely that it made a loud cracking sound. By the next day, my foot was so swollen that I could not even put weight on it. On Children's Day (Editor's Note: May 5 every year in Korea), I received "The Exemplary Child Award" by the Association of Seoul Educators' Organizations. The award is given to a student who demonstrates exemplary qualities in all aspects. When each teacher makes his or her selection, they vote on the final candidates and the award is given after a survey on-the-spot by the members of the Association. I have always shared my snacks with my friends because I thought they might want to have some, too. I've always helped with friends who had hurt their legs climb up the staircases and looked for ways I could help my friends. I was almost always one of the first ones to arrive at school in the morning and gave help to those who could use my help. Through all these things, my friends have come to love me, and I found school life to be very enjoyable. Also, as I obeyed everything my teachers told me, they also adored me, too. God's Word I had learned at the Sunday School became a foundation of my heart and I could apply it at school. I believe that I've received the award and such honor not because I had done something particularly well, but because my teacher, who had always kept her eye on me and known what type of student I was, adored me and God led her heart to select me. I think God really loves me!
