About nine months ago, I suddenly began to suffer from insomnia. Perhaps it was due to age, but no matter how hard I tried to sleep, I couldn’t fall asleep until dawn, and sometimes not even until 5 a.m. Since I usually had to wake up at 8, there were days when I had to start my day with only two or three hours of sleep. As a result, I would often feel dizzy and stagger, and my eyes, which were already weak due to cataract, became increasingly dim and cloudy.
In the latter half of last year as well, I also began reading the Bible, but I had no choice but to stop midway because of the pain in my eyes. The congenital corneal opacity in my eyes was a condition difficult to treat medically, and with cataracts added, my vision continued to grow more blurred. Then I came to realize how much God delights in reading the Bible, and as I heard many testimonies around me of people becoming literate or receiving healing and answers while reading the Bible, I felt that saying I couldn’t read the Bible because my eyes hurt was just an excuse.
So with firm resolve in the new year, I began reading the Bible on January 1. After completing one full reading on January 28, I attended the divine healing meeting on January 30. After receiving prayer for the sick from Pastor Soojin Lee at the divine healing meeting, something remarkable happened. Starting the very next day, I began to feel sleepy as soon as I lay down, and at night I was able to enjoy deep, restful sleep. Hallelujah!
In addition, after completing one full reading of the Bible, I read Pastor Emeritus Jaerock Lee’s book, Men of Flesh, Men of Spirit, and I was amazed at how clearly and simply the Word was explained?it was so easy to understand. As I became more focused during worship services, every single word of the message felt so sweet to me. I give all thanks and glory to God who healed my insomnia and granted me such sweet, restful sleep.
