If we truly love and serve someone, we would not make wicked jokes, but speak only good and meek words. It is goodness for us to say good words without offending the heart of others, and when, with good words, we move the hearts of those who have severely offended our hearts, that it is the higher level of goodness. Our Lord Jesus, who is the Son of God, came into this world in flesh. He showed the much higher level of goodness to the point of laying down His life for sinners. He considers those who try their best to accomplish this highest level of goodness as His friends.
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." (John 15:13-14)
