If one has desire to show off or seek recognition from others, Satan takes advantage of it. Rather than tempting a person to lie in a way that is direct, Satan tempts people to think, 'I can keep the recognition of others if I conceal this problem just this once' or 'It will be a great benefit to me if I overlook it just this once and say we can use it for the work of God'. To keep from falling into such temptation, we should check if we sincerely desire to boast in the Lord and we must do all to the glory of God whatever we eat or drink or whatever we do (1 Corinthians 10:31).
