In the Lord's Prayer, He says, "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). That is, we can be forgiven when we forgive others. However, the true forgiveness is not just covering the other's fault unconditionally. As Jesus forgave the woman who was caught in adultery and told her to commit no more sin (John 8:11), the true forgiveness is not only to cover the other's fault but to lead him to the right way.
