What happens if you pour water into a jar with a hole in it? You will not be able to fill it no matter how much water you put into it. This is similar to the Word of God. In the Word of God you can find how to achieve success in life, receive blessings and gain eternal salvation. But, the information is useless if you just listen with one ear and let it pass right out the other. Although you try to fill yourself with the Word by listening very carefully, it will amount to nothing unless you put the Word into practice. Just as the farmer who works hard sowing seeds and cultivating the crop can reap a great harvest, only those who listen to the Word of the Bible and put it into practice can get the fruit of blessings and eternal life. (Romans 2:13)
