One's evil mind does not cause harms only to himself but also to his neighbors. If he judges and condemns an innocent person and spreads rumors about the person, it will make a barrier of sin against God and the innocent person suffer pains. If we make it a rule to look at anything in a good manner, we can keep our heart in peace but cause no pain to others.
"The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart." (Luke 6:45)
