Easter Performance "Resurrection" was delivered on a special stage in the main sanctuary. It gave the audience a chance to engrave the Lord's love into their hearts. The performance was a live musical rendered all by the church members including planning, managing, acting, music, dance, and wardrobe.
On March 25 2016, the Easter Performance was delivered on the special stage in the main sanctuary of Manmin Central Church. This performance led by Performing Arts Committee was broadcast via GCN (www.gcntv.org). It was performed live as a musical stage performance and the audience felt as though they were in the middle of Jesus' ministry and passion.
More than 360 people were devoted to this musical. Except for specialized out-sourced personnel they were all church members belonging to the Performing Arts Committee including the Immanuel Choir, Nissi Orchestra, United Praise Team, and Hallelujah Band.
The musical consists of three acts. In Act 1 "Evidence of Resurrection", the resurrected Lord appeared before His disciples who were afraid after His crucifixion, and Peter and Mary Magdalene reminisced about the Lord and proclaimed His resurrection.
In Act 2 "The Way of the Lord", Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom and performed many powerful works. The scene was described in joyous song and dance. Also, His prayer at Gethsemane the night He was arrested, and His way of passion on the Via Dolorosa were represented on the stage.
Act 3 "The Hope of Resurrection" depicted the Lord's resurrection and ascension and the encouragement of His disciples. What moved the audience' hearts even more deeply in this performance was the introduction of six new 'Manmin Praise' songs including "Resurrection 2", "Profession of Peter", and "The Ministry of the Lord."
Before this performance, Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee preached the message entitled "The Cross" based on Galatians 3:13. He said that the cross, that was the representation of a 'curse', came to symbolize 'blessing' through Jesus, and in the cross are embedded sacrifice and love.
In addition, he urged the members to live by the Word of God if they really believe that the Lord suffered from severe pain until the last moment on the cross. Through his message and the performance, the audience felt how great the love that God had given them really is, and they were filled with joy of salvation and hope of resurrection.
