Manmin Central Church's Performing Arts Committee has given inspirational performances for many church occasions including overseas crusades, pastors' seminars, handkerchief healing meetings and Easter, Church's Anniversary, and Christmas and opened the new era of Christian performing culture (Photos: Sweet Rain Chorus, Miracle Junior, Manmin Korean Traditional Music Team, Beautiful Aroma Dance Team, Aurora Dance Team, Clear Sound Chorus).
Manmin Central Church's Performing Arts Committee chaired by Rev. Heejin Lee is preparing for the Church's 32nd Anniversary Eve Performance and Celebration Performance entitled "The Castle of the Shepherd in New Jerusalem" and "Invitation Card" respectively.
The Committee's singers, dancers, and Nissi Orchestra members will render outstanding performances with God-given songs on the stage with a scenic design which represents the gorgeous city of New Jerusalem.
Every year their presentations of beautiful praises and mixed-genre performances have received rave reviews from guests both in and outside of South Korea as well as the local church members.
They have contributed to the national evangelism and the world mission performing traditional Korean dances as well as those of other nations and offering praises in many languages before hundreds of thousands and even millions of people in Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's overseas crusades such as those in the U.S., India, Kenya, and Israel.
The Committee is made up of five choirs—the Immanuel, Shalom, Nazareth, Golden Light, and White Stone choirs; Nissi Orchestra; 25 performing teams; and several soloists. The Committee is composed of more than 1,000 church members in total.
The members voluntarily joined the committee to glorify God with their talents and have created great pieces of performing works in the power of the Spirit.
Thanks to Dr. Lee's prayer and support, they have grown greatly in spirit and increased their skills. In addition to trying to develop themselves, they now offer training programs for children in cooperation with Manmin Kindergarten. They also train students' performing teams thereby producing many professional quality performers for the future ministry.
There are students' teams such as Sweet Rain Chorus, Clear Sound Chorus, Beautiful Aroma Dance Team, Aurora Worship Dance Team, Miracle Junior (musical instrument team), and Manmin Korean Traditional Music Team. They've presented great performances with pure and beautiful aroma offered to God during worship services.
Sister Yejin Jeon, age 15, of Manmin Korean Traditional Music Team said, "I was happy to hear that the church members enjoyed the grace given though our performance. But I think that I have to practice harder to improve my abilities. I'd like to help my Senior Pastor and deliver the Lord's love in the Canaan Sanctuary era."
Sister Soohyun Shin, age 18, of Clear Sound Chorus, stated, "I feel very joyful after practicing hard and giving God my special praise on the altar. I am preparing myself in spirit and body to glorify God and open the hearts of souls in church events throughout Korea and overseas crusades through praises."
They take private singing and dance lessons together with instruction in music theory. They learn how to perform in ensemble during team practices and get performing experiences on the altar while giving special performance during services. Other professional team members, as full-time performers, receive systemic and intensive training for further improvements to their ability.
The praise team singers learn chords, practice sight-singing and melodic dictation, and take piano lessons and private singing lessons. They learn Korean traditional dance, jazz dance, and other kinds of dances as well. The dancers are being trained by professional instructors and learn many genres of dance including the traditional dances of Korea, ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance. They also learn yoga, acrobatics, and rhythmic gymnastics.
Deaconess Jin Lee, Administrator of Performing Arts Committee, age 40, said, "The Performing Arts Committee will demonstrate to the world Manmin's holy and beautiful performing arts and raise best-skilled performers to spearhead the world Christian performing culture. We are set to have pleasant and well-equipped training facilities too. We hope the best-ever performers trained in the Committee—instructors-to-be will spread the world's best Christian performing culture to the whole world."
You may have great expectations for Manmin Performing Arts Committee's future, when they will purify the performing arts world that is so steeped in sins and darkness and deliver the love of God and the Lord.
