At the 65th National Liberation Day Celebration and the Kwanghwamun Reconstruction Celebration held at the Seoul Kwanghwamun Square, Sister Soyoung Lee, who belongs to College Mission of Manmin Central Church, sang the National Liberation Commemoration Song. She is known to have absolute pitch and is recognized as a genius pianist. She was diagnosed with the third degree of blindness due to congenital cataracts in 2001. But she overcame it and entered Korea National University of Arts in 2005 and majored in voice.
Seminar for Foreign Pastors Living in Korea
On August 17, a special seminar for pastors who are studying theology and ministry in Korea was held at the Newcomers' Room of Manmin Central Church. Pastor Dongcho Shin, the speaker of this seminar, delivered a lecture on the gospel of holiness and manifestation of God's power. His lecture was translated into English by Deacon James Seo. After his lecture ended, the speaker and the audience shared a period of time with many questions and answers. The visiting guests toured the church including the Aquarium of Muan Sweet Water where freshwater fish and saltwater fish live together. They also visited Manmin TV station to become acquainted with the powerful broadcasting ministry of Manmin Central Church.
The Lord's Love Mission Summer Retreat
From August 17 to 19, 2010, the Lord's Love Mission Summer Retreat was held at the Seohaean Youth Complex in Seosan City of Chungnam Province. Around 200 members of the mission, which consists of the North Korean refugees, participated in this summer retreat and Pastor Dongcho Shin and Pastor Hyunchul Joo delivered the messages. Various programs took place including athletic events, a praise and dance festival, and campfire worship dance.
The Third Quarterly Scholarship-awarding Ceremony
On August 15, the third quarterly scholarship-awarding ceremony took place presided by Elder Gyudong Lee, Representative of Urim Asset Plus Inc. and Urim Synthesis Mutual Aid Company. At this quarterly ceremony, 180 students received scholarships.
